The Intersection of Innovation and Resilience:
The journey began in 1906 in Rochester, New York, with the Haloid Photographic Company, which initially manufactured photographic paper and equipment. The company's fortunes changed when Chester Carlson invented xerography in 1938, a revolutionary technology that would become the backbone of Xerox's success. In 1947, Haloid entered into an agreement with Battelle Memorial Institute to develop a copying machine using xerography, leading to the introduction of the first copier that used this technology.
The 1960s marked a significant milestone for the company with the release of the Xerox 914 copier - the first marketable plain-paper copier. This was followed by a series of innovations in computer technology, including the creation of the world's first personal computer by PARC scientists in 1973. As the company evolved, it expanded its product line to include multifunctional devices that could scan, fax, and print from PCs, solidifying its position as a leader in the printing industry. Today, Xerox continues to innovate, offering cutting-edge printing solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of businesses worldwide.
